Quality Gates
For a variety of legitimate reasons, you might want to see what Six Sigma can do, specifically for you and your processes, before launching your organization into a full scale initiative.
Quality Gates provides this opportunity. Quality Gates is, in itself, the very minimum attention to defect and waste reduction your process should have.
It will render your process transparent, exposing defect generators and hidden waste. Data on defects and waste is the basic fuel for Six Sigma projects.
- Deliverables:
- Implementation of the Six Sigma approach across a process, ‘end to end’
- Treatment of each ‘Process Step’ as a unit of study and development of quality metrics for Six Sigma performance (Core Six Sigma tools are used to conduct the study.)
- Installation of cascading Process Maps (value stream format) and FMEAs, describing the process in detail, to facilitate transparency
- Exposure of areas requiring corrective action and/or mistake proofing
- Reduction/elimination of reliance on final Test & Inspection for defect capture
- Development of a measure of total process performance
