Recently, a corporate newsletter from BHP Billiton was sent to us which highlights one of our earlier results from Japan. The first wave of 18 Black Belts achieved US$8.8 million in savings.
We have added a breakdown of the projects for information on where the savings were made. Note the distinction between hard and soft savings. It is critical to make this distinction to ensure savings are 'real'.
At the time US$1 was approximately equal to 100 Japanese Yen.
